STOOL SAMPLE
- The container
must be sterile and hermetically sealed. Do not add any preservative to the
sample.
- A sample the size
of a walnut or, in the case of liquid stools, 5-10 mL is sufficient.
- Feces should be
collected before starting antibiotic treatment.
- Stool samples
contaminated with urine are not valid. Toilet paper should not be used for
collection.
- Keep the
container refrigerated in the refrigerator until it is taken to the laboratory.
